About me
Jessica Roseman (she/her) choreographs, teaches, and researches how movement fosters self-awareness and attunement to the environment and others. A mother and PhD student in Interdisciplinary Design and Media at Northeastern University, she founded Nourish, a somatic practice grounded in care, accessibility, and embodied awareness. Drawing on techniques from the Feldenkrais and GYROTONIC Methods, as well as her expertise in therapeutic massage, Jessica develops inclusive somatic practices that encourage participants to engage deeply with their physical, emotional, and social selves. Her solo performances invite reflection on life’s complexities, grief, menopause, and trauma, by cultivating spaces where these often-silenced narratives can be shared and understood. Her solo performances create space for reflection on vulnerable experiences like grief, menopause, and trauma, designing ways to engage with narratives that are often silenced. With over 30 years of experience as a performer, choreographer, and educator, Jessica has held residencies and fellowships at institutions such as Mass MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts, Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and Subcircle in Biddeford, Maine. Her work has been presented nationally at venues including the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston, Movement Research in New York, and Miami Light Project in Florida, as well as in community-based and site-specific settings. These engagements continue to shape her interdisciplinary approach to movement, exploring how embodied practices reflect themes of ancestry, biraciality, and the evolving dynamics of mothering. A New England States Touring Artist, Jessica shares her work nationally through performances, workshops, and lectures.
