About me
Brielle Fowlkes (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist and facilitator whose passion is rooted in making transformational, powerful, and honest works that exalt Black and Brown stories and communities. In 2021, Brielle served as the director of a year-long anti-racist theatre initiative for middle and high schoolers in Homestead, Florida. In the spring of 2022, she joined the Miami-Dade artist collective "Art of Family" to create video poetry that centered the liberation of all Black peoples. In conjunction, Brielle curated numerous workshops and community-based projects that empowered her community to deepen their artistic gifts and wield them for collective change. Today, Brielle is continuing her education at Emerson College, where she will obtain a Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre Education and Applied Theatre. Through her continued scholarship and ever developing artistic practice, Brielle seeks to join and expand the work of establishing communal gatherings that are centered in creation, joy, and transcendence for collective liberation.
